This was typical daily dress. Standard jungle fatigues .I always wore long sleeves to keep the sun off. Notice how dirty we were. The APC's were aways rolling in dusty red clay roads during the dry season. The only dust protection we had was a bandana/handkerchief. No goggles were issued. we always wore steel pots, and "sometimes" wore flack jackets when track mounted. Unless we were in a major basecamp, we had no showers. one day in this particular base camp, the engineers built a large rotating shower over a new well. at dusk they told us "get your clothes off, we are turning on the shower! 10 naked guys cleaning up in a massive sprinkler! Thy burnt the clothes and gave us new uniforms.
