C-rations everywhere. They had an excellent purpose besides feeding us. . They made good seats when three high cases were strapped to the top of our track. The pound cake, fruit cocktail and some of the cheese tins were ok, none of the rest of the rations were very tasty. I survived them only because the turkey loaf when heated was at least marginally edible.
