Hard Spot Ceremony second picture. The hard spot was a small company sized base built the the Combat Engineers unit. It had bull dozed berm surrounding it and a maze of of different types of barbed wire. Foo Gas explosives were built at strategic points and the entrance used an over lapping berm system that forced everyone thru a narrow ally to gain entrance. all bunkers were supper reinforced and each track had a bull dozed parking spot that allowed only the top of the track in the 50 cupola to show. 2nd Battalion companies took turns rotating thru this small fortified basecamp. There were no artillery units with us, only or own mortars and of course we were supported by remote fires support bases.
