x Eagle Flight from Dau Tieng at take off

Eagle flight taking off from Dau Tieng. In November of 1968 they used as as "Airborne Troops" and we did a full on aerial assault near the Black Virgin Mountain. Landing in an LZ with full on rockets, miniguns blazing away, just like in the movies. We did not make contact and swept thru the jungle back to our tracks. This is the only time B Company went "Airborne Assault" during my tour and I thought it was a problem because we were not properly trained or equipped for this type of operation. In addition, we could not carry 50 Cal machine guns and limited ammo, only what we could carry!
